Annual Billing

The free tier has no annual option. Annual subscribers are billed once per year, but usage limits still reset on a monthly basis (see What Counts as Usage).
What Counts as Usage
- Ask query - Each message sent in Ask mode counts as one query (unlimited on Pro and Max)
- Agent analysis - Each message sent in Agent mode counts as one analysis, regardless of how many tools the agent runs
When Usage Resets
- Free tier - Resets on a rolling 30-day window, counted from your first tracked use.
- Paid tiers - Reset on a calendar-monthly basis, regardless of whether you are billed monthly or annually. For annual subscribers, your usage allowance still rolls over each month even though your payment renews once a year.
Monitoring Your Usage
The Billing & Usage page shows a usage meter for both Ask and Agent mode, with a progress bar, your remaining quota, and a countdown to the next reset. The bar changes colour as you approach your limit:- Amber at 80% - you are approaching your limit
- Red at 100% - your limit is reached
Credit System
When you exceed your tier’s monthly Agent analysis limit, you can continue analysing with credits. Credits are available on Pro and Max tiers only.Credit Packs

How Credits Work
- You start an Agent analysis that would exceed your monthly limit
- DECODA checks if you have available credits
- One credit is deducted for the analysis
- Your analysis proceeds normally
Credits require an active Pro or Max subscription and expire 6 months after purchase. They are only consumed when your monthly Agent allocation is exhausted.
Credit Safety
DECODA uses a fail-closed billing model. If there’s any issue checking your quota or deducting credits, the request is denied rather than allowed. This prevents accidental overuse.Credits are automatically refunded for analyses that end without producing meaningful work. A credit is returned when you cancel before any tool runs, when the analysis sandbox fails, when the analysis provider errors out, or when no output is produced. You are only charged for analyses that actually run.
Credit Alerts
If you have email notifications enabled, DECODA warns you when your credit balance is running low:- Low balance - a warning email when your balance drops to 5 credits or fewer
- Exhausted - an email when you have used all of your credits
Managing Your Subscription
You can manage your subscription from Settings > Billing:- View current usage - See how many Ask queries and Agent analyses you’ve used this period
- Purchase credits - Buy credit packs for additional capacity
- Change plan - Upgrade, downgrade, or switch billing interval
- Billing portal - Access invoices and payment method management via Lemon Squeezy
Subscription Status
Your current plan card shows a status indicator. The possible states are:| Status | What it means |

Upgrading
When you upgrade, the new limits take effect immediately. Your usage count carries over for the current period. If you upgrade between tiers part way through a billing cycle (for example Pro to Max), you are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the cycle rather than the full price. The charge reflects how much of the cycle is still ahead. For example, if roughly half of your billing cycle remains when you move from Pro to Max, you pay around half of the price difference now, and the full new price applies from your next renewal.The prorated amount shown in the app is an estimate. The final figure is confirmed at checkout.
Downgrading
When you downgrade, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep your current tier’s limits until then.Switching Billing Interval
You can switch between monthly and annual billing for the same tier:- Monthly to annual - applied immediately, like an upgrade, with a charge for the change.
- Annual to monthly - applied at your next renewal, like a downgrade. You keep your annual plan until then.
Cancelling and Resuming
When you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period - you keep full access to your tier’s features until then. No refund is issued for the remainder of the period. If you change your mind before the period ends, a Resume button on the billing page reactivates your subscription in one click, and billing continues as normal.Billing Portal
